All about GEEP
Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) is one of the National Social Investment Programmes designed to give access to credit to poor and vulnerable people who are at the bottom of the economic pyramid including persons with disability.
The target beneficiaries are people already engaged in business enterprises such as traders, artisans, enterprising youths, farmers, agricultural workers, and other categories of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The goal is to eradicate poverty, generate employment, and develop MSMEs throughout the nation.
How we make an Impact
Trader Moni
TraderMoni (for youths) is an empowerment scheme designed to uplift underprivileged, under-served, and marginalised youths (18 – 40 years) in Nigeria from poverty.
This scheme is targeted specifically at empowering youths that have not had the right to education, orphans, and youths with disability. However, to be eligible for collateral and interest-free loans of N50,000, these youths must have some entrepreneurial skills e.g., artisans, artists, tailors, craftsmen/craftswomen, amongst other identified vulnerable groups. The loan has a moratorium period of three (3) months and tenure of six (6) months.
Market Moni
(for women) is an empowerment programme specifically for underprivileged and marginalized women (18 – 55 years) in our society. For the Ministry to meet its goal of helping uplift 100 million people out of poverty, the upliftment of women will significantly advance the achievement of that goal.
This scheme is targeted at women in female-headed households e.g., widows, divorcees amongst other vulnerable groups with interest and collateral-free loans of N50,000. The loan has a moratorium period of three (3) months and tenure of six (6) months.

Farmer Moni
(for rural farmers) is an empowerment programme for Nigerian farmers (18 – 55 years) mostly in rural areas that operate in the agricultural space (farmers and agricultural workers).
The GEEP 2.0 Farmer Moni programme focuses on agro-preneurship, whereby FMHADMSD through the Bank will provide the complete value-chain of agriculture to the beneficiaries of Farmer Moni with interest and collateral-free loans of up to N300,000. The loan has a moratorium period of nine (9) months and tenure of three (3) months.
This has the potential to generate growth, diversify income, and provide widespread employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for targeted farmers in rural areas.
